Double Check Before Unloading

Before unloading your mat, pull up a small corner of vinyl and check that it has been cut all the way through. If it hadn’t, cut it again. You’ll find that it’s nearly impossible to perfectly realign your mat, and unloading without first checking can lead to starting all over again!

Peeling without the Curl

Curls are for hair, not your vinyl! Once your design is cut, turn the mat over and peel it away from the vinyl. Pulling the vinyl away from the mat will cause it to curl. You’ll find that the flatter your design is the easier it will be to apply!

Lineup Layering

Creating a multilayered style just got easier! To achieve perfectly aligned results with your vinyl layers, try using a layer of parchment paper between the vinyl to ensure proper positioning before sticking the vinyl layers to each other. Since the parchment is translucent, you can see the layer beneath for perfect placement! Once your layers are how you like them, gently slide the parchment out, then burnish your layers.

Contending with Curves

If you’re planning to apply your design to cups, bottles, or any other curved surface, you’ll need to know how to adhere your vinyl without wrinkles, bubbles or anything else that might disrupt the appearance of your application. When adding vinyl to a curved surface, cut relief lines in the transfer tape to make it easier to shape it around your surface.
