Mini Garden Signs

Add colour to your garden with fun signs or garden markers! They’re easy to make with Avery Waterproof Labels and empty sour cream or yogurt tub lids, as well as plastic takeout containers, and ice cream tub lids etc.

These durable, submersible waterproof labels are available in four different sizes, so you can make everything from tiny fairy garden signs, to mid-size markers for your vegetable garden, or larger signs that make more of a statement.

Begin by creating your sign base. To do this, choose a plastic container lid that will suit the label size that you’ve selected. Next, use a permanent marker and ruler to draw a rectangle on your lid the same size or slightly larger than your label. Now, use a craft knife and cutting mat or a pair of scissors to cut your lid. Once your rectangle has been cutout, smooth the sharp or jagged edges with some sandpaper. Finally, hot glue a craft stick to the back of your plastic rectangle and set aside to dry.

Now it’s time to design your label. Head over to Avery Design & Print Online and enter the label number in the “Start a New Project Box”. Once you’re in the Design & Print Online design library, you’ll be able to choose from a wide selection of existing templates that you can personalize to suite the type of sign you want to make. Of course, you can also upload your own content. Finally, print and apply to your plastic sign, then place it in your garden.

Magnetic Bookmarks

To make your own version of these handy tags, grab a pack of Avery Magnet . Next, head to Avery Design & Print Online to search for template 22858. This will give you the template for Avery Printable Rectangle Tags. This step will allow you to add the tag shape to your label sheet.

Next, select the tag design you want or upload your own art. Once you have customized your tags (one for the front and another for the back), print them out on your magnet sheet. Next, cut out the tags, then cut a hole at the top of each tag (where the tag string would go). Lastly, thread a bit of ribbon or yarn through both holes in the magnet tags. Now you can use your magnetic bookmark by positioning each section on the front and back of your desired page.
