Does GHS apply to small containers of chemicals?
Yes. Even if the hazardous chemical is in a small bottle, a manufacturer, importer or distributor must attach a GHS label to a hazardous chemical's immediate container if it is to be transported. It cannot be attached only to the outside packaging of a shipped chemical.
Small Capacity Containers (100 ml or less): Hazardous products packaged in small volume containers are exempt from the requirement to bear precautionary or hazard statements on the label. All other requirements must be met.

- Manufacturer's name and phone number
- Signal word
Small-capacity containers — 3 ml or less:
- Hazardous products packaged in a small volume container that has a capacity of less than or equal to 3 ml are exempt from the requirement to include information elements (section 3(5) of the HPR). It must have at a minimum the product identifier and the supplier identifier.
