Permanent Vinyl has a stronger adhesive and is designed to last longer, even outdoors. It is ideal for items that need durability, like car decals, mugs, or outdoor signs.
Removable Vinyl has a lighter adhesive, making it easier to remove without leaving residue. It is great for temporary projects and seasonal decor.

Cut & Create adhesive vinyl works best on smooth, non-porous surfaces such as:

• Glass
• Plastic
• Metal
• Ceramic
• Sealed wood

No, in most cases mirroring is not required.

The exception is when you are using Etch vinyl with the intent to apply inside for an outside view (on a window, for example). Otherwise, cut your design as-is, since you will be applying it right-side-up.

Your blade might be dull, cut settings might be too deep, or the mat isn’t sticky enough to hold the vinyl in place. Try changing your blade, reducing the blade depth and making sure your mat is clean.

Ensure you are using a sharp blade that is free of debris, in combination with a clean cutting mat. You may also need to increase your machine’s cut pressure in the settings.

Always perform a test cut before attempting your project to ensure that your settings and equipment are correct.

1. Cut your design using your cutting machine.
2. Weed out the unwanted vinyl (the parts you don't want to transfer).
3. Apply transfer tape over your design and smooth it down.
4. Peel off the backing, leaving the vinyl attached to the transfer tape.
5. Position and apply the vinyl to your surface.
6. Burnish (press down firmly) with a scraper.
7. Slowly peel off the transfer tape, leaving the vinyl in place.

• First, clean your surface with rubbing alcohol to remove dust, oils, or residue.
• Make sure the surface is dry before applying.
• Use a scraper or squeegee to firmly press the vinyl down, especially at the edges.

Yes, Cut & Create adhesive vinyl is waterproof and suitable for use on mugs, bottles, outdoor signs, etc; however, for best results, hand wash items – especially cups or tumblers – and avoid soaking or scrubbing the design.

Cut & Create by Avery adhesive vinyl is not dishwasher or microwave safe. Even permanent vinyl can peel or weaken with heat or high water pressure. To extend the life of your project:

• Hand wash only
• Avoid soaking
• Do not microwave

No, Cut & Create by Avery adhesive vinyl is not food-safe and should not be used on areas where it will touch food directly. You can apply it to the outside of mugs, jars, plates, plastic bags, etc., but not on surfaces that food will touch.

Adhesive vinyl does not bond well to fabric and will potentially peel off quickly. For clothing or fabric projects, try Avery Fabric Transfers instead!

Keep vinyl in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Yes – for simple shapes, you can cut vinyl with scissors and craft knives.

With the exception of the Fluorescent vinyls, which are cast films, Cut & Create vinyls are calendered films.

The recommended application temperature for Cut & Create adhesive vinyl is 10°C or higher.
